About The Wagoneer

There are other large three-row SUVs out there, but the only one that’s a Jeep is the Wagoneer. The Wagoneer pairs a roomy and comfortable interior with some serious capability, both on and off the road. The interior seats up to 8, or 7 with the available 2nd-row captain’s chairs. Cargo space in three-row SUVs is often unimpressive, but the Wagoneer offers an impressive amount, especially if you opt for the long-wheelbase Wagoneer L. And if that’s still not enough space, the Wagoneer’s 10,000-pound towing capacity makes it a class leader. And since we’re talking about a Jeep, you also get the kind of offroad capability that other manufacturers don’t even attempt. With a standard HEMI® V8, the Wagoneer has the power to make it all look easy too. Cutting-edge technology puts the Wagoneer even further out in front of the competition. Whether you’re talking about comfort, towing, or offroading, the Wagoneer has the tech to impress, and deliver an experience above all the rest.

What the Critics Say

“At the same time, the Wagoneer impresses on the road. It’s quiet and comfortable, and the controls all operate with satisfying precision. At 70 mph, it feels like you’re going about 50. Wind noise is practically nonexistent, even with the large rear view mirrors.” — Kelley Blue Book

“Jeep has crafted increasingly posh interiors for its SUV models in recent years, and the all-new Wagoneer is no exception. The cabin is bank-vault quiet, elegantly styled, and trimmed with mostly high-end materials. Padded leather surfaces and soft-touch plastic are in abundant supply, though glossy hard plastic can also be found. Overall, it’s easily among the best interiors in this class.” — U.S. News & World Report

What’s New For 2023

The Wagoneer is only in its second year of production, so there haven’t been any styling changes, but there are major changes nonetheless. The first of these is a new optional engine. The V8 is still standard, but a new Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbo I6 is available, and standard on higher trims. This makes more power while also getting a few more mpg compared to the V8. The other big change is the new Wagoneer L, a long-wheelbase form of the Wagoneer. This adds 7 inches to the wheelbase, and a foot in overall length. The seating space in the standard Wagoneer is already very generous, so this extra-long version instead adds quite a bit of cargo space in the back. If you need to bring the whole family and all of their luggage together, this is the kind of space you want. Lastly, there is a new Caride package, which is based on the Series II and adds some more standard features, as well as unique black wheels, upholstery, and trim pieces.

Wagoneer Features

Wagoneer By Jeep Towing

Powerful Performance

Depending on what you plan on using your Wagoneer for, Jeep has a configuration that will make it easy. The standard engine is a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 that produces 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. Standard on most trims is the 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo I6, which produces 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but 4WD is available on any trim and with either engine. Thanks to a Trac-Lok® Anti-Spin Rear Differential, RWD models are plenty capable, but add the 4WD and Selec-Terrain® Management System and the Wagoneer becomes a top-tier offroader. No shortage of capability on the road either, with a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds, the Wagoneer out-tows competing large SUVs like the Chevrolet Tahoe and the GMC Yukon by a significant margin.

Luxury Interior

For all of its capability, the spacious interior is what the Wagoneer is built to offer. And not only is there room to stretch out, but Jeep has made the Wagoneer much more than some utilitarian people hauler. Capri leather upholstery is standard, and if you prefer Nappa leather, that’s available as well. Heated and ventilated front seats are standard, as is a heated steering wheel. And heated second-row seats are available too. You get a name-brand stereo as standard equipment, a 9-speaker Alpine system. But for the audiophiles, there is a 19-speaker McIntosh® MX950 Entertainment System that really takes the audio experience to a whole new level. Lots of bigger vehicles will offer dual-panel sunroofs, but the Wagoneer takes it a step further with a Tri-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, so that everybody can enjoy some natural light. 3-Zone Climate Control is standard too, and charging ports throughout the cabin make sure everyone can keep their devices charged.

Groundbreaking Technology

In all areas, the Wagoneer uses advanced technology to make things easier and more comfortable. The Selec-Terrain® System, with a choice of a Single-Speed On-Demand Transfer Case or a 2-speed version, makes for advanced 4WD that gives the Wagoneer the kind of offroad handling that people used to think wasn’t possible in a larger SUV. The available Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension lets you lift the entire vehicle for up to 3.6 inches of extra ground clearance in especially tough conditions. Inside, you’ll find a Uconnect® 5 system with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen. This latest infotainment software is fast, looks great, and is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional 10.1-inch screens are available to keep back seat passengers entertained, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen is available for the front passenger, giving them access to entertainment and navigation features, as well as a video USB port for playing video from a secondary source. The 10.25-inch gauge cluster is also fully digital and customizable, and a head-up display is available to let you better keep your eyes on the road.
